Les ccTLD (country-code top level domains) sont tous les tld comprenant 2 lettres. Ils sont rattachés à une zone géographique (souvent, un pays) par l’Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (aka IANA).


Ils ne changent à priori jamais, même si des modifications ont dû être apportées à la liste après l’éclatement de la Yougoslavie. On s’est d’ailleurs retrouvés dans une situation un peu difficlie, quand la République Fédérale de Yougoslavie (.yu) est devenue Serbie et Monténégro (.cs). Le .cs étant auparavant réservé pour Tchécoslovaquie, on s’est retrouvés avec un “échange” de ccTLDs qui a foutu un bronx phénoménal pour les domaines déja enregistrés. J’ai lu quelque part que le code de l’IANA était le même que celui utilisé dans les bibliothèques pour la nomenclature des livres, et j’imagine aisément le bordel quand on a du se retrouver avec des livres classés CS tchècoslovaques, et des CS serbes. Dans la pratique, c’est toujours le .yu qui est utilisé…
